Decades of Hands-On K&S Wire Bonder Support — Serving Customers Nationwide

Decades of hands-on K&S expertise, serving labs and manufacturers nationwide.

Sunshine Semiconductor has spent more than 45 years building its technical foundation through hands-on work with wire bonding equipment across research, development, and production environments. Based in Middle Tennessee, we support universities, R&D labs, defense contractors, aerospace companies, and microelectronics manufacturers with rebuilt equipment, field service, training, and application support.

Who We Are

Sunshine Semiconductor has earned the trust of customers across the national wire bonding community, from leading research universities to organizations in Silicon Valley, the Route 128 corridor, Dallas–Fort Worth, North Georgia, the Colorado Front Range, Florida, and other major technology regions. Our experience spans the evolution of Kulicke and Soffa equipment from early manual wire bonders through today’s iBond 5000 platforms. We offer rebuilt K&S 4500 Series wire bonders, and provide field service, preventive maintenance, repair, installation, training, and application development for K&S 4100 Series, 4500 Series, 4700 Series, and iBond 5000 machines.

What sets SumSemi apart is the depth of our process knowledge. We understand not only the machines but the upstream and downstream factors that influence bonding success, which allows us to help customers improve reliability, productivity, and long-term process stability.

Legacy Wire Bonder Support

Supporting legacy K&S wire bonders requires practical experience with how these machines were designed, how they change with age, and what it takes to restore them to stable, repeatable operation. Sunshine Semiconductor brings that knowledge to rebuilt machine sales, service calls, and training engagements, helping customers keep proven equipment useful long after ordinary support channels become limited. Access to hard-to-find legacy parts strengthens that support, but the real value is knowing how to apply the right repair, adjustment, training, and maintenance approach for the customer’s machine and application.

Application Knowledge Backed by Field Experience

Beyond equipment service, Sunshine Semiconductor provides advanced application assistance, including tooling recommendations, process setup, process optimization, and operator training. Remote technical support options allow customers nationwide to resolve bonding challenges quickly from our Middle Tennessee base, without waiting for an on-site visit. That combination of field and process expertise sets us apart.
